Body language expert Louise Mahler homes in on ‘weird’ detail in Harry and Meghan ‘loved up’ display

When Prince Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, put on a “loved up” display at a recent Beyonce concert, it was a move that appeared to further prove rumours of marriage trouble were — as the couple have put it themselves — simply “not true”.

But when Australian body language expert Louise Mahler analysed footage from the Sussexes’ appearance at SoFi Stadium in California on Friday night, she came to a different conclusion.

To summarise the appearance in one word, she calls it “complicated”.

Harry and Meghan appeared to have booked out an entire section of the stadium for Beyonce’s Renaissance World Tour show, with the duo seen dancing alongside friends and Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland.

“Look if you’re an average person having a look at this, you’d go, ‘Oh look at that how beautiful,” Mahler tells 7Life.

“You know a couple with his arm around her and dancing together at a concert, how beautiful.

“If you’re me, you see something totally different.”

There’s a particular movement Mahler notes — she says it was when Harry had his arm around his wife and Meghan had “no response whatsoever”.

“At one stage, she puts her arms around him, she whips back and is off,” Mahler observes.

“There’s something not right about that.

“I see them as a couple who are playing up to the cameras, they know cameras are there.”

Looking at footage of the couple dancing along to the Beyonce hit Crazy in Love, Mahler calls the display “awkward”.

“I see [Meghan] bringing her arms in very awkward, I also see her wriggling but her eyes are in total conflict,” the expert says.

“I see Harry dancing like Russell Coight at his worst and Megan looking at him and going, ‘Oh God’ and then turning away.

“So I just see lots of indicators of a problem.”

Mahler says that, unlike some fans, she “doesn’t see all that love” and only sees “problems”.

“I think they know that, and I also wonder if there’s anything that they could do to convince me that they’re actually in love because I don’t believe it,” the expert says.

“So it’s complicated.”

Further assessing the footage, Mahler sees Meghan as being “detached” from her relationship with Harry.

“I can guarantee you there is no commitment from Megan in her face or her body in any way, she is not connected to Harry.”

Harry and Meghan were part of a larger group at the concert, with everyone including Ragland dancing and singing along with the Beyonce tunes.

“Everyone else seemed to be really trying hard to make it a happy event,” Mahler says.

“Turning to her and going, ‘Come on let’s dance’ and then Meghan starts dancing with her hands above her head but no one around her is doing that much activity.

“So that was a little bit weird, but she knows she’s on camera.”

The expert also points out Harry’s “defensive” behaviour in terms of the audience around the group and those recording their time at the concert.

“Harry’s got a problem, he is so defensive, and he’s in his army mode,” she says.

“It’s protection, he hates the cameras, hates the media, he can’t get through it.

“Don’t think that Megan’s not aware that the cameras are there.

“Her life is the cameras, she knows the cameras are there, but she doesn’t hate it.

“She’s gonna play up to it — that’s the difference.”
