It seems the relationship between Prince Harry and his father King Charles may be slowly thawing out.
The Duke of Sussex picked up the phone after six months of not talking to his estranged father to wish him a happy 75th birthday, The Sun reports.

According to the outlet, Charles took a break from a busy schedule on Tuesday to have a “friendly” chat with Harry and his wife Meghan.
“The King was extremely busy but is polite and loves his son and his grandchildren, and not so mean that he would not take a call on his birthday,” a source told The Sun.
The phone call included plans to “catch up soon”, the source added, but said there was still “a long way to go” to patch up the relationship between the monarch and his son.

“There is still a long way to go to mend the rift created over many years — and the deeper issues caused by allegations in the Netflix series and Spare are not healed with a phone call,” the insider said.
Apart from taking his son’s call, Charles spent his birthday launching the Coronation Food Project, which aims to end food waste amid the cost of living crisis in the UK.
Speculation mounted in the UK press days ahead of the King’s birthday about whether Harry would get in touch with his father.
The uncertainty was intensified after a spokesperson for Harry and Meghan released a statement denying the couple had turned down an invitation to the King’s birthday celebrations, as The Sunday Times had claimed.
Instead, the statement declared they were never extended an invitation in the first place.

“In response to UK media headlines, there has been no contact regarding an invitation to His Majesty’s upcoming birthday,” it read.
“It is disappointing the Sunday Times has misreported this story.”

Prince Harry has not seen his father since Charles was crowned on May 6.
One source close to the King recently told The Times the monarch was saddened by the state of things between Harry and Prince William, and his own estrangement from his son.
“When he gets to the end of another successful work day and thinks of his family, there will always be a twinge in his heart about a problem he hasn’t been able to solve yet,” Charles’ friend told the outlet.
