In a statement released on Instagram, Ferguson said: “I am shocked and saddened to learn that Jenean, who worked with me as my personal assistant many years ago, has been murdered in Dallas aged just 46.
“Jenean was loyal, hardworking, beautiful and fun and my heart breaks for her family and friends.
“I heard from her just a couple of months ago and she seemed so happy.
“Her family is raising money to transport her body back to New York City and pay for legal and funeral costs.”

“I will be making a donation and supporting the family in any way possible,” Ferguson said before telling followers that the donation link was in her Instagram bio.
Two of Chapman’s sisters were among the comments thanking the duchess for sharing their sister’s story.
“Thank you for your continual kindness and support towards my sister. Working for you was the best thing that could have happened to her,” sister Crystal Marshall said.
“Thank you for sharing our sister’s story. Jenean used to speak of her time with you as one of the highlights of her life. We also appreciate you supporting us as we seek #JusticeforJenean,” Charene Chapman-Santiago wrote.
Officers were called to a home in Dallas on September 25 where they found Chapman dead, according to the Dallas Police Department.

The following day, the medical examiner’s office ruled her death a homicide, Dallas police said.
Dallas police said in a Wednesday update they’d identified a suspect and took James Patrick, 48, into custody in Austin, about 200 miles southwest, CNN reports.
Two of Chapman’s sisters Nicole and Crystal told Fox News affiliate KDFW that their sister and Patrick dated on and off for six years before they wed in July 2023.
He was booked in the Travis County Jail and will face a murder charge, police said.
Dallas police did not outline any motive in the case.
